βœ“ Prerequisites & System Requirements

Before beginning setup, make sure you have the following:

1 Step 1: Install PCPilot on your Windows PC

  1. Download PCPilot for Windows: Click Download Windows Setup (.exe). The download starts directly in your browser.

    ⚠️ Browser security warning?

Treat any download warning seriously. Only continue if you downloaded the file from pcpilot.in, the filename matches the one above, and you trust the publisher. If anything looks different, cancel the download and contact support.

Do not disable browser or Windows protections to install unfamiliar software. We recommend publishing a signed installer and checksum before broad distribution.

  2. Run the Installer: Double-click PCPilotSetup.exe.
Windows SmartScreen "Windows protected your PC" Notice:
If Windows SmartScreen appears, stop and verify that the installer came from this official domain and that its publisher information is expected. Do not select β€œRun anyway” for a file you cannot verify.
  3. Allow Windows Firewall: When prompted by Windows Defender Firewall, check "Private networks" and click "Allow access". This allows your phone to discover your PC automatically on your Wi-Fi network.
  4. Look at your System Tray: PCPilot will start and sit comfortably in your Windows taskbar tray (bottom right, near the clock) with a green status indicator.

2 Step 2: Install PCPilot on your Android Phone

  1. Download the Android App: Click Download Android App (.apk). The APK downloads directly to your phone.
  2. Install the APK: Open the downloaded file from your notifications or File Manager. If Android asks for permission to "Install unknown apps from this source", tap Settings and toggle "Allow".
  3. Open PCPilot: Launch the app. You will be greeted by the smooth 3D onboarding tour that introduces all trackpad gestures and controller features.

3 Step 3: Connect Phone to PC (3 Easy Ways)

Method A: Instant Wi-Fi Auto-Connect (Recommended)

  1. Ensure your PC and your Android phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi router / network.
  2. Open PCPilot on your phone. It will automatically detect your PC name (e.g. AYUSH-PC) within 1-2 seconds.
  3. Tap your PC name to connect. A 6-digit PIN will appear on your PC screen β€” enter this PIN on your phone to pair permanently!
  4. Done! You now have full control over your cursor, keyboard, media, volume, and game controller.

Method B: Instant QR Code Scan

  1. On your Windows PC, open the PCPilot Control Center. A dynamic QR code is displayed right on the Overview screen.
  2. In the Android app, tap the "Scan QR" button at the top right.
  3. Point your phone camera at your PC monitor. Connection and pairing happen instantaneously in under 0.5 seconds!

Method C: Direct USB Cable (Zero Latency & Gaming)

  1. Connect your phone to your PC using any USB-C or micro-USB data cable.
  2. On your phone, enable USB Debugging in Settings β†’ Developer Options.
  3. PCPilot automatically establishes a high-speed local tunnel (127.0.0.1:8443). This provides sub-1ms ultra-low latency, ideal for GTA 5, gaming, and areas with weak Wi-Fi!

β˜… What To Do vs. What NOT To Do

To ensure flawless 120 FPS performance and avoid any connection drops, please follow these guidelines:

WHAT TO DO

  • Same Wi-Fi: Connect both PC and mobile to the same router (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
  • Allow Firewall: Make sure PCPilot has permission through Windows Defender Firewall.
  • Keep in Tray: Let PCPilot run in your Windows system tray so you can control your PC anytime.
  • Use USB for Heavy Gaming: For competitive gaming or racing, plug in a USB cable for zero input delay.
  • Use Lock Screen: Use the "Lock Screen" button in the app when putting your phone in your pocket to prevent accidental clicks.
  • Save Pairing: Once paired with the 6-digit PIN, your phone is remembered forever.

WHAT NOT TO DO

  • NO Public Wi-Fi: Do NOT use college campus, airport, or hotel Wi-Fi. Public networks enable "AP Client Isolation", which blocks phones from talking to PCs. (Use USB cable mode instead!).
  • NO Charge-Only Cables: Do NOT use cheap charging-only cables for USB mode. You need a data transfer cable.
  • DO NOT Block Ports: Do NOT block TCP port 8443 or UDP port 8444 in third-party antivirus software (McAfee, Norton, QuickHeal).
  • DO NOT Disable Wi-Fi & USB Simultaneously: PCPilot requires either local Wi-Fi or USB cable to transmit signals.
  • DO NOT Force Kill Agent: If you exit the Windows agent from the tray, remote control will stop until you open PCPilot again.

? Troubleshooting Common Issues

1. "PC Not Found" or Mobile doesn't discover Windows PC?

Solution: Check Windows Firewall! Open Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security or click "Allow Firewall" inside PCPilot's sidebar. Alternatively, use Method B (QR Code scan) or Method C (USB cable).

2. "Connection Refused" error?

Solution: Look at your Windows taskbar system tray (bottom right). Ensure PCPilot is actively running and shows a green "Server Active" status.

3. Cursor feels laggy or jumps?

Solution: If you are on a congested 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with many family devices downloading, switch your phone to your router's 5 GHz band, or plug in a USB cable for instantaneous 120 FPS tracking.

4. Want to switch between 2 different phones?

Solution: Both phones can be paired! In the PCPilot Windows Control Center, you can see all connected phones and assign ACTIVE control with 1 click.
