Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026. Effective for all users of PCPilot software, mobile applications, and pcpilot.in.
1. Our Fundamental Commitment: Zero Cloud & Zero Tracking
At PCPilot (pcpilot.in), privacy is not a setting โ it is our core engineering foundation. PCPilot is designed from the ground up as a 100% offline, local-network-only utility.
We operate no cloud servers, no central databases, no telemetry collectors, and no user tracking mechanisms. When you move your finger on your phone's trackpad or press a key on your game controller, that data travels directly between your phone and your PC over your private Wi-Fi network or USB cable. It never touches the internet or any third-party server.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
PCPilot does NOT collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- No Personal Information: We do not require accounts, signups, email registrations, or phone numbers.
- No Keystroke Logs: Keyboard strokes and mouse coordinates are processed directly into native Windows input events and immediately discarded. Nothing is ever logged or recorded.
- No Screen Recordings or Files: Real-time screen streaming stays strictly inside your local memory buffer and is never recorded or uploaded.
- No Location Data: We do not track GPS, cell tower locations, or geographic movements.
- No Analytics or Ads: PCPilot contains zero advertising SDKs, zero analytics trackers, and zero third-party telemetry libraries.
3. Permissions Used and Why They Are Needed
Android Application Permissions
- INTERNET & ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Required strictly to establish a local socket connection (TCP port 8443) to your PC across your Wi-Fi router. No external internet traffic is generated.
- CAMERA: Used exclusively when you tap the "Scan QR" button to scan your PC's pairing QR code. Camera frames are analyzed locally on your phone's CPU and never saved or transmitted.
- VIBRATE: Used solely to provide tactile haptic feedback when tapping buttons, triggers, and thumbsticks.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Keeps the connection active when switching between apps or running in the background.
Windows Agent Permissions
- Network Listening (Port 8443 & 8444): Listens on your local network adapter for incoming commands sent from your paired phone.
- SendInput API: Uses standard Microsoft Windows hardware simulation APIs to move your mouse and simulate key presses.
4. Security & PIN Authentication
To prevent unauthorized devices on your network from controlling your computer, PCPilot employs a strict security hierarchy:
- One-Time 6-Digit PIN: Connecting a new phone requires entering a randomly generated PIN displayed on your PC screen. The PIN automatically expires after 5 minutes.
- Cryptographic Device Tokens: Paired devices receive a high-entropy 256-bit token stored locally in Windows AppSettings.
- Single Active Controller: Only ONE device can actively control mouse/keyboard inputs at any given second.
- Instant Revocation: You can disconnect all devices or revoke any device permanently with 1 click from the PCPilot Windows tray.
